ANALYST II, GLOBAL OPERATIONS (IT ASSET MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities

1) Asset Lifecycle Management

  • Support the end-to-end lifecycle management of IT hardware assets including:
    • request/intake
    • receiving
    • deployment
    • assignment
    • transfer/moves
    • returns
    • decommissioning
    • disposal
  • Maintain accurate asset records including:
    • owner/custodian
    • location
    • serial number
    • model
    • status
    • business purpose
  • Ensure asset lifecycle updates are properly reflected in ITAM and CMDB platforms.
  • Coordinate periodic inventory verification and reconciliation activities.

2) ITAM & CMDB Administration

  • Administer and maintain asset records within Freshservice, Device42, or equivalent ITSM/ITAM and CMDB platforms.
  • Support CMDB accuracy by ensuring discovered assets and configuration items are properly validated, updated, and maintained.
  • Assist in maintaining asset relationships and dependency mapping data to improve service visibility and operational accuracy.
  • Support discovery and inventory synchronization processes between endpoint tools, discovery platforms, and CMDB systems.
  • Identify and correct duplicate, incomplete, orphaned, or inaccurate asset records.

3) Inventory Control & Audit Readiness

  • Conduct regular inventory audits, reconciliation checks, and discrepancy investigations.
  • Ensure asset tagging standards and inventory governance practices are followed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for asset movement, transfers, and disposals.
  • Support audit and compliance activities related to hardware inventory and CMDB data accuracy.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure critical assets remain properly tracked and documented.

4) Stakeholder Coordination & Process Support

  • Work closely with IT Support, Procurement, Infrastructure, Security, and Finance teams to ensure proper asset tracking and lifecycle coordination.
  • Support operational processes related to procurement, onboarding, deployment, recovery, and disposal activities.
  • Assist in documenting ITAM and CMDB procedures, standards, and workflows.
  • Provide guidance to support teams on asset update requirements and inventory processes.

5) Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Support the creation and maintenance of operational reports and dashboards related to:
    • inventory health
    • lifecycle status
    • asset aging
    • assignment accuracy
    • CMDB completeness
    • ADM coverage
  • Monitor data quality metrics and identify gaps impacting asset visibility and CMDB reliability.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to ITAM, CMDB, and discovery processes.


QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

Required

  • 2–5 years of experience in IT Asset Management, Service Management, IT Operations, or related IT support functions.
  • Experience working with ITSM, ITAM, or CMDB platforms such as Freshservice, Device42, ServiceNow, or equivalent tools.
  • Understanding of hardware asset lifecycle processes and inventory management practices.
  • Familiarity with CMDB concepts, asset relationships, and discovery/inventory processes.
  • Strong organizational and data management skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting CMDB accuracy and Application Dependency Mapping (ADM) initiatives.
  • Familiarity with endpoint inventory or discovery tools.
  • Experience supporting audit and compliance requirements.
  • Reporting and analytics experience using Excel, Power BI, Freshservice reporting, or similar tools.
  • ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent service management knowledge.
